Extremely slow downloading speed from Adobe Stock

My freelancer is facing very long download times for simple jpegs on the exact same machine he was able to download the entire CC suite in moments. Clearly, his connection is not the problem.

Is Adobe Stock throttling download speeds for certain IP ranges? We're in different countries, and I'm not experiencing the slowdown.

There is no slow down (throttling) from Adobe's side that I'm aware off.

I have the same problem. Top download speed from Adobe is like 18 KB/s.

Same for me today.  AT&T Fiber.  Downloads of over a gig take seconds on any other site.  2 hours on Adobe Stock.  Clearly, if you google it, this has been an issue for over a year.  It's not suprising that technology requires troubleshooting periodically, but for something so fundamental to be so broken for so long, it really devalues Adobe Stock for all of us.  Steers me more and more to iStock and Shutterstock.

@weccleston ,

No, there need to be a different issue. I could access stock without any problem for the last 7 years.

Ok, so I can download huge files in seconds from virtually any website on the internet, except Adobe Stock, where they take 2 hours.  And the problem isn't Adobe Stock?

@weccleston@Jason23014173if27,

I won't say that you do not have a problem. I just say that the issue is probably not Adobe stock. If it would be globally a stock issue, this site would be exploding.

Check your firewall, your antivirus, your browsers. Change the network: home/work/cell.

Check the location were files are getting stored. Locally an in the cloud. Libraries with a lot of assets are known to cause a performance issue.

Yesterday I did licence and download a vector file. The download was instantaneous, and I do not have a gigabit line. My line is even slow for current standards. Assets are not huge, except for videos and PSDT files.

You could also try a phone or a tablet on the wifi. That would exclude or incriminate your computer as the source for troubles.

Thanks for the reply. Tried it on a tablet and phone - same issue. Even downloading a video made in Express is very slow. I'm going to try a VPN and see if that helps as I saw on some other threads that worked for some people. I'm only having this issue downloading from Adobe. Everything else is fast.

Same here. On my PC every other website downloads as expected. Adobe stock takes hours to download a small file, say 20MB. i got as low as less than 1kB per/S. I am using a VPN becuase i have to, but still all the other sites work fine.

This is an Adobe issue.

That is mutually exclusive. If it were an Adobe issue, the issue would also be there with the VPN. It's a configuration issue of your firewall(s). The VPN circumvents that one(s).

"the issue would also be there with the VPN."

The issue is when I am using a VPN. It is not mutually exclusive.

"The VPN circumvents that one(s)."  yes, and the issue is present with the VPN active.

The issue is only present with Adobe. All other sites, processes are fine.

Its only with stock.adoobe.com. and the downloading of licenced files.

Any other ideas?

If you use a VPN and that makes the issue to go away, the problem is not on Adobe's site. Your indication does make one believe that the VPN solves the issue.

There is one known issue with libraries, that I'm aware of. If libraries grow above a certain number (years ago users reported that number to be 100, lately I have the impression that this number is above 800) the library system gets incredibly slow.

You may experience that as slow downloads, but in this case it should be slow, regardless of using a VPN or not.

My library is not over 100 so that should be ok.

but i think you have misread my post.

The issue does not go away when i use a VPN because I am always on the VPN.

Due to my current location I am unable to test without VPN. But all my other sites and other work actitivies are unaffected and dowboads are as expected.

Only Adobe Stock is the issue.

@MiSun,

If you have the possibility, check a different VPN provider.

@MiSun,

You may also try disabling for a small time slice the virus protection of your computer, even that I would not do that for too long. Some antivirus programs are known to slow transfers in some situations. If you are Microsoft defender, however, you are good.

Ive been experiencing the same thing! Trying to download images from Adobe Stock for my assignment though, the downloads for small files would be up to 50 minutes. It used to only take a few seconds.

Same issue! Downloading 1.1GB video currently queued at 30-45min download time. Makes the service almost unsuable. If this doesn't get addressed by my renewal date I'll probably move to a different service.

My internet speed is measured at almost 1000 mb per second.  And yet it's taking me 30 minutes to download a 6 mb licensed image from Adobe Stock.  Adobe please look into this!  Time is money.  This is unacceptable.

They won't do anything about it.

They won't even look into it.

Adobe support consists of 1.) people who don't have anything to do with the
company but have endless amounts of time to give useless answers and 2.)
the occasional Adobe employee whose only job is to close tickets,
irrespective of the issue being fixed or not.

I honestly cannot wait until this company just collapses under its own
weight.
