A final resolution for this issue requires additional changes by the manufacturer. As soon as those are available, we will be able to affect this specific issue.
The "raw" DNG on the GRIII series is already de-bayered (or "de-mosaiced" like a TIFF), and Adobe's AI Denoise seems to need the Bayer matrix data intact to work.
I think it's unlikely Ricoh is going to update the GRIIIs to add another RAW output option, but who knows.
If the de-bayering information is correct, there would be no retroactive solution for Ricoh GR III/IIIx photos already taken. That would indeed be a bummer. I am wondering, though, if maybe Adobe could consider a different approach? I tested DxO PureRAW which seems to use similar technologies. It is, however, able to de-noise Ricoh GR III/IIIx files. And it handles them very well.
I have a Ricoh GR III and Lr's AI noise reduction no longer works. Before it worked very well and for some time now, I have launched it, everything works normally, but there is no difference with the original image. Of course I do RAW (DNG). I also have a Sony a9 and it works very well, it's just that the images from my Ricoh are buggy... do you have the same problem?
Any updates on this matter? It has been quite a while. This is really frustrating. It would be nice to know if the engineers are working on it and if we can expect a solution. When? If not, I probably need to invest in an additional app.
Any updates @RikkFlohr on the situation? I want to get a third party denoising app if it's not going to be fixed any time soon (which is an awful shame). Thanks.

We, the Pentax K3III and the RIcoh GRIII users, are completely abandoned . Noone is able to estabilish who has in charge the resolution of the issue. I spent more than 4 hours at the phone with Adobe "expert", the issue is still there and they closed the claim ADB-33280901-X3P7. Full stop. Customer care ? Customer WHO CARE !
Hi ! As you can understand from the official Adobe support a guy called Rikk Flohr Adobe Employee is saying that an issue we Ricoh Users have (Pentax K3III and Ricoh GRIII camera) needs an "update from the manufacturer " to be solved:
the issue is that the Noise Reduction in Lightroom that uses Artificial Intelligence does not work, it does not produce any effect to the enhanced file that is, at the end, 99,99% equal to the original. Someone think this has something to do with the NR baked in that the two cameras has. Could you help some thousands of Pentax/Ricoh users ? I think the two company could talk to get a final solution for a win-win approach.
"I see no difference with the update, despite Adobe's claim that Denoise will work with a wider variety of RAW files."
Correct. And in LrC, click on Help, then "Whats New" and you can see that (More Enhancements). And yes, Adobe is late (as normal) placing a What's New document in the community.
