P: Camera-Matching Profiles: Requests and information

Adobe Employee ,
Aug 31, 2021 Aug 31, 2021

Camera-matching Profiles are applicable to Camera Raw, Lightroom Classic, and the Lightroom Ecosystem products (Desktop, Mobile, and Web).

Note: Not all cameras will receive camera-matching profiles.

This thread is a place to request missing camera-matching profiles for specific models. Please include a complete camera model designation and a list of the specific camera-matching profiles you are requesting in your request. If your camera is already listed in this thread, please reply to the specific camera’s post rather than just posting in-line.

Camera-matching profiles are provided for some camera manufacturers and models. As raw support is added for individual camera models, camera-matching profiles for some cameras may be added when raw support is initially offered.  Other cameras may see camera-matching profiles added at a later date. It is also possible that a specific camera may see a long delay or perhaps not ever receive a specific camera-matching profile.

Note:

ETAs for camera-matching profiles are not available. New feature announcements are only made after support is added.

Problem:

Some Fujifilm X-M5 camera matching profiles missing from Lightroom

Expected behaviour:

When editing .RAF files from Fujifilm X-M5, all relevant camera matching profiles should be available, including Classic Negative, Nostalgic Negative, and Eterna Bleach Bypass.

Observed Behaviour:

  • Some camera matching profiles are available (e.g. Classic Chrome, Provia/Standard, Reala Ace, Velvia/Vivid, Astia/Soft and more).
  • Classic Negative, Nostalgic Negative,  Eterna Bleach Bypass are not displayed.
  • This behaviour is specific to the X-M5. When editing .RAF files from X-T50, all relevant profiles are correctly displayed and available.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Import a .RAf file from Fujifilm X-M5
  2. Open this .RAF file in Adobe Lightroom desktop on Mac in detail view
  3. In Edit panel, browse profiles
  4. Some camera matching profiles will be seen, but Classic Negative, Nostalgic Negative, and Eterna Bleach Bypass are not shown.

Hey @adrianclark, welcome to the Community! Thanks for sharing the screenshots and info—it’s super helpful!

Quick question: Have those profiles ever been available when editing X-M5 .RAF files, or is this a new issue? I noticed filters like Classic Negative are only supported for some specific models and not all. Usually, if the profiles aren’t showing up, it’s because they’re not compatible.

Could you share one of the .RAF files where you're seeing this issue? So I can test it on my end.

Some users have had success restoring missing camera profiles by moving all files out of the Camera Profiles folder (located at Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/), restarting Lightroom, and then moving the files back.

Let me know if this helps. Thanks for your patience!
Alek

@adrianclark: "Classic Negative, Nostalgic Negative,  Eterna Bleach Bypass are not displayed."

[This post contains formatting and embedded images that don't appear in email. View the post in your Web browser.]

Curiously, those profiles are shown for sample X-M5 photos downloaded from dpreview.com, e.g.

https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/3219370504/fujifilm-x-m5-pre-production-sample-gallery/284...

(See screenshot below.) Those samples are from a pre-production camera, so perhaps the production firmware has changed in a way that trips up Camera Raw / Lightroom.

If AlekRB's recommended step doesn't help, upload a sample file to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and post the sharing link here. That will quickly determine if the issue is with your installation or CR / LR.

Thanks, @Aleke and @johnrellis !

Here is a. RAF file from my X-M5: https://new.space/s/RRxpQdEpMpkmlvNzRng28w#xqbdxD2W1xMhXveX8rH502lpoTbfzQXO-2DU7gUvn2M

I don't think all the film sim profiles have ever showed up for the X-M5... It's hard to recall exactly, because they do all show up for .RAF files taken on the X-T50. The X-M5 definitely does support all the profiles - they can all be applied to jpegs in camera.

I looked in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/ and found it to be empty, curiously!

I just noticed that you were on Lightroom Desktop, not Lightroom Classic. With my and your sample photos, I don't see the missing profiles either in Lightroom Desktop 8.0 / Mac, though I do see them in Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 / Mac and Camera Raw / 17.0.1:

JohnREllis_1-1733936078034.png

JohnREllis_0-1733934786643.png

The profiles that don't appear in Lightroom Desktop 8.0 are: Bleach Bypass, Classic Neg, Sepia.

Given that this occurs on two different computers and with Lightroom Desktop but not Camera Raw or Lightroom Classic , sure seems like a simple bug in Lightroom Desktop to me (not working as-designed).

* * *

You could try @Aleke's suggested workaround. But two things to note about that:

1. "I looked in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/ and found it to be empty, curiously"

The built-in profiles are stored under /Library, not ~/Library:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/

Only user-imported profiles reside under ~/Library.  So try the workaround with /Library.

2. LR has long stored Fujifilm camera-matching profiles compiled into the LR application itself, not under /Library. So I'm skeptical the workaround will have any impact.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography, three camera-matching profiles for the Fujifilm X-M5 appear in Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 and Camera Raw 17.01 but not in LR 8.0:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/camera-raw-discussions/p-camera-matching-profiles-requests-and-inform...

Shouldn't this be in Lightroom Ecoysystem Bugs then?  @adrianclark's post was merged here, but it's not a request for new profiles, since the profiles exist but were mistakenly omitted from Lightroom Desktop.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography: "Please check today's Lightroom 8.1 release."

Good, I now see camera-matching profiles Bleach Bypass, Classic Neg, and Sepia for the Fujifilm X-M5 in Lightroom Desktop 8.1, and the entire list of camera-matching profiles matches that in Lightroom Classic 14.1 and Camera Raw.

Thanks again, everyone, for your interest in and help with this.

As @johnrellis mentioned, I also found that all the proper camera matching profiles are available for X-M5 files in Camera Raw and in Lightroom Classic. Also as John indicated, there are no Fujifilm camera matching profiles in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/. Other manufacturers, yes – but no Fujifilm.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography@Aleke, I have updated to Lighroom 8.1 but Classic Negative, Nostalgic Negative, and Eterna Bleach Bypass are still missing for X-M5 files. The update seems to have worked for John, but not for me. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Lightroom but still no good.

I have the same issue on both my 2020 Intel iMac and M1 Pro MacBook Pro, both running macOS 15.2.

I double-checked your sample photo and four more X-M5 raws downloaded from dpreview. They all show Bleach Bypass, Classic Neg, and Sepia.

However, I just noticed that you mentioned "Eterna Bleach Bypass", not Bleach Bypass. I looked at sample raws in my test catalog from 38 different Fujifilm cameras (via dpreview.com), and while there was Bleach Bypass and Eterna/Cinema, none of them show Eterna Bleach Bypass.  Is that a typo?

I would very much like to see the Leica Q camera (came out in 2015) profile added to Lightroom Classic so I can edit my photos in the develop module. As of December, 2024, its still not been added to the camera profiles listing and I see that the Leica Q2 and Q3 don't have a profiles added either and these are fairly recently introduced cameras. It seems my only option, not ideal, is to convert my images to DNG in order to process them.

Hi Adobe team,

I'm using the Xiaomi 15 Ultra for photography and shooting in RAW (DNG) format. While Lightroom can import and edit these files, there are currently no Camera Matching Profiles available that replicate the original JPEG look from the device.

These profiles are essential to maintain color fidelity and achieve a consistent workflow, especially for mobile photographers who rely on their smartphone’s image rendering.

I’d really appreciate it if Camera Matching Profiles could be added for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, similar to how they're available for Canon, Sony, or Nikon.

Thanks a lot for your great work and ongoing support!

Hmm... why do I get an email, that MY post "Camera Matching Profile fpr Xiaomi 15 Ultra RAW files (DNG)" has been moved?

I never posted anything like that, because I don't even own a Xiaomi cellphone.

Anyone else uninvolved in this thread got an email like me?

@Goyko: "why do I get an email, that MY post "Camera Matching Profile fpr Xiaomi 15 Ultra RAW files (DNG)" has been moved? I never posted anything like that"

The mediocre forum platform Adobe rents for these forums gets confused now and then when threads and posts are moved and merged.

I have an issue with my new GFX100RF:

When i import the Raw files in Lightroom, not all film simulations are there in Camera Matching Profiles.

For example: Classic Neg (my favorite), Nostalgic Neg, Eterna Bleach Bypass and more are missing. See Attachment.

(The images i shot in Classic Neg show up in LR as shot in Provia/Std.)

Both my Lightroom Classic and Mobile are up to date.

Might this be a bug?

I downloaded a sample Fujifilm GFX100RF raw from dpreview.com:

https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/7038056302/fujifilm-gfx100rf-pre-production-sample-gallery...

and compared the list of camera-matching profiles shown in LR Classic 14.2 with the list shown in the user manual:

https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/gfx100rf/#gsc.tab=0

I saw exactly three profiles not appearing in LR: CLASSIC Neg., NOSTALGIC Neg., ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS. They are also missing from LR Desktop and Camera Raw.

A similar issue occurred with the Fujifilm X-M5 and LR Desktop last December, with the same three profiles missing:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/camera-raw-discussions/p-camera-matching-profiles-requests-and-inform...

Note that Adobe indicates the support added for the GFX100RF in LR Classic 14.2 is "preliminary".

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

So there might be an update for the camera in the upcoming 14.3. I suggest you wait for 14.3 and then post a new bug report if the profiles are still missing.

My LrC is up to date (14.2) and I only use RAW when shooting. I use both a Leica Q2 and Leica CL so both are DNG files. I've checked that LrC supports those cameras but cannot locate the Camera Matching Profiles. Are they available for these cameras and if so can I be directed to where I can locate them

Thanks

@Jeff5E33: "a Leica Q2 and Leica CL ... cannot locate the Camera Matching Profiles."

The supported-cameras table shows that LR / Camera Raw provides camera-matching profiles for just a few older Leica models, the last one being the V-LUX 5 (in LR 8.4, 6 years ago):
https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html#Leica

The table shows the Q2 doesn't have camera-matching profiles while the CL does:

johnrellis_1-1744912249801.png

I believe that's a documentation bug. The actual contents of the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera folder shows profiles for the C-Lux but not the CL:
