Cannon particle behavior has become unresponsive

I was working on a particle behavior on a layer - and was able to have 3 layers with the same trigger stream cannon mode in different directions - but when I added additional layers, cannon mode became unresponsive. (snow still works, however) I deleted all of my layers, created a new one with a new trigger, and cannon is still unresponsive(it just causes the image to appear, but not multiply). Has anyone experienced this, or have any ideas how I can go back and fix it?

    Also - cannon works if set to continuous mode, but not if set to a keyboard trigger. (other keyboard triggers are functioning fine)

    I haven't played with this in a while - could you share here or DM me your .puppet file (File > Export > Puppet) via a shared link on Google Drive, Dropbox, or Creative Cloud to take a closer look?

    Thanks so much for being willing to look at it! I've just sent you a dropbox link with the puppet file, and a video example of what I'm wanting to do (with fewer key strokes).
