Import Video File into Adobe Character Animator for Reference

Hey guys, I need some help.

I am making some short videos and would like my puppet to raise his hand when some text is being displayed in the video, so is there anyway to import a video file into Adobe Character Animator in the background for reference on the timing?

Thanks!

Not directly - but I would use dynamic linking. That means you set up your puppet in a Character Animator scene and then dynamically link that scene to After Effects. To do this just drag your scene from your Character Animator Project into your After Effects project. In After Effects you can layer your video behind your puppet. Then make any timing adjustments in Character Animator and they will flow through to your After Effects project in real time. Jumping between the two you should get it done quickly.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply!

Yea, I just manually animated the character by timestamp.

Anyway it would be a helpful feature if videos can be imported for reference, just like Adobe Audition.

Yes I agree. I have the same need. I would like to import a short 15 sec video but this doesn't work.
