Puppet with cane, one end fixed to the floor

Hi,

I'm currently rigging a puppet that has a cane in one hand and was wondering how I can pin down the lower end of the cane to the floor, while the top keeps being connect to the hand, even when the body is moving (not as in walking, just slight movement while talking). Right now no matter if the cane layer is independent or not, outside or inside the arm group, pinned down or not, it still moves with the body, including the lower end. Any help/rigging tips would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

    But, I have thought of another way to refer to Dave Sensei's video.

    I think left arm will not extend and the cane will be fixed to the floor.

    I would like to hear your opinion and feedback.

     

    1) Place the drag tag and left wrist tag on the tip of the cane.

    2) Change the bin's left wrist from a puppet to a behavior with the IK of the limb.

    3) Drag the tip of the cane to lock it in the desired position.

    4) The cane will be fixed without stretching the arm.

      Hi @k_oshiro,

      I just tried your method and that works great as well! The only difference is that sometimes the cane does lift a little from the floor, even when the wrist is set to behaviour, but not a lot and it looks natural. Also no stretching at all so that's a plus! Thank you both!

        Would it help to make Stick independant and put on hinge?
