Flexible Subscription Plan

I suggest a flex plan for the "Creative Cloud All Apps 100GB" plan.

I assume the majority of subscribers use only a handful of the included apps.  How many of those creatives feel they are wasting money on apps they will never use?  A quick YouTube search of "Adobe alternatives" yields a large number of results because the perceived value of a Creative Cloud subscription is not at the level it could be.

I believe a flex plan that allows customization of what is included in the plan would boost overall subscription sales for Adobe.  In addition, this type of plan would allow Adobe to craft a much more powerful marketing message.  Rather than "Get 20+ creative apps", the message becomes "Get exactly what you need to maximize your true potential."

I believe a "credit" system would provide the basis for a great subscription plan.

The numbers I have provided below are illustrative only.

How this would work:

While multiple levels or packages (different price points and credit amounts or bundled apps) may be a better offer, for brevity, I am using only a single subscription plan example.

A monthly subscription costs $50 / month and includes 25 credits.

A new subscriber selects how to allocate those credits.

For example:

  • Pr = 2 credits
  • Lr = 2 credits
  • Ai = 3 credits
  • Ps = 3 credits
  • St = 6 credits
  • Pt = 3 credits
  • Ds = 3 credits
  • Md = 3 credits

Total:  25 credits

Maybe this allocation could be changed over the life of the subscription.

Alternative plan ideas could be based on a core package plus some number of credits.  For example, 3 or 4 essential apps for the graphic designer (or VFX artist, 3D designer, etc.) plus 6 credits to be allocated by the subscriber.

The subscriber gets access to what they need, eliminating the perception that money is being wasted on apps that will never be used.  In fact, the opposite happens.  With the buyer in control, the perceived value skyrockets.

Adobe, I'd be happy to expound on my ideas.  Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions.

as an explainer and helper for users confused by adobe's limited current options, this would be (imo) be a nightmare.

I agree with kglad . It's too complicated to administer effectively.

I like the existing all-you-can-eat buffet. It works well for those who use a few apps all the time and others on rare occasions.

@DRLarkin

You have posted this as an Idea, so Adobe Staff will see it.

Adobe came out with various preset packages during the six versions of Creative Suite, then changed it to include 20 apps with Creative Cloud. As I understand it, the price is based on most folks using approximately four applications, and they let us choose our own apps. This works for me.

I would happily trade access to a dozen of those included apps for access
to the Substance suite of products. But that isn't an option Adobe gives.

You are correct. The Substance apps are not part of the 20 Creative Cloud all apps plan.

What do you think of this proposed idea (of mine) for Adobe, allowing customers to create their own custom-made plan for Creative Cloud while Adobe oversees pricing? Personally, I think this idea is "brilliant" because I believe it could benefit individuals who rely on government assistance, work in low-paying jobs, are blue-collar workers, have unstable employment, are at high risk of poverty, or have an average income levelas I do myself, relying on Social Security since moving into a group home.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
