Help is adobe really this incompetent that their programs can't even turn pages, and they allow it to continue for almost 5 years??? I am completely floored by this.
The turn buttons were greyed out. I typed the number 1 into the box on the top right next to the greyed out arrow buttons and the buttons "un-greyed" and became workable to turn pages. Hope this helps you.
Exact same thing is happening to me right now. 4.5.11. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting. NOTHING makes this app work, which sucks because my Pro Tools books are on it and I got the exam coming up.
I uninstalled all adobe products, rebooted, then changed the name of the folder in documents from my digital editions to my digital editions.old then authorized ( which is under the help button) again with adobe, and used password. first it didn't work, and all of a sudden it does. I can read, hoerah!!
I had the same problem. I got help from ADE support. The support guys was REALLY HELPFUL! He had me check for new drivers (my laptop is a Dell, 2 months old running Windows 11). He was particularly interested in the Graphics drivers. Anyway, we downloaded and installed all 8 as recommended by Dell and ADE turns pages!
(Before this I'd unauthorized, uninstalled and reinstalled ADE - no change with that. It was the drivers on my laptop.)
I trierd the unauthorize... and it didn't work. What fixed my problem was updating all the drivers on my laptop. I think I needed a new graphics driver. I just went to the manufacture's site (Dell) and it checked and recommended a few drivers were out of date. After accepting them all being updated, the pages started turning like they're supposed to.
