"Error! Check Activation"

When I attempted to access a book I had just downloaded, I got this error. The boards claim that the cause of this error has been fixed. Apparently it hasn't. What do I need to do so that  can access my books?

Windows:

    Close all applications.

    Choose Start > Run.

    In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.

    In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept

    Select the Adept key.

    Choose File > Export.

    In the Export Registry File dialog box, select Selected Branch under Export Range. Enter a name and location for the backup registry key, and then click Save.

    Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.

    In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.

    Close the Registry Editor.

    Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.

Macintosh:

    quit Adobe Digital Editions.

    Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.

    Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.

I don't see anything called Adept key. I have Adept Activation or Device.

Hello, I have this problem since a long time, but I have to solve it really quickly to read my books just now. I did the manipulation you suggested, but the result is that, in the mean time when I open again my adobe digital , the key is coming back to the Registey library, so it's not possible to re authorize. ANd if I ask to stop authorization, the window says it's not possible.
