Won't Open

Please help.  I have downloaded Adobe (as suggested) and a library book, but I keep being told "Adobe Reader could not open 'URLLink (9).acsm' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)".  So I can not access the book I have borrowed to read.  WHY??
