Adobe Application Support Folder - missing one or more files - reinstallation really advisable?

Have PS CS5 for Mac. My current operating system is OS X El Capitan 10.11.4.

After drive failure I had to take a backup of a older operating system Photoshop.

At start of PS I get the message "The Adobe Application Support folder is missing one or more files that are required for Photoshop. Run the installation program from PS and install PS again."

But that lost all my settings. I use some plug-ins. It is possible that these can no longer be reconstructed.

A test shows that PS is working, but I can not try everything.

If a reinstallation really advisable? If so, I have the existing installation before uninstalling (Mac Trash or by PS uninstaller?

Nach Plattendefekt musste ich Photoshop aus einer Sicherung eines ältern Betriebssystems übernehmen.

Beim starten von PS kommt die Meldung "Im Ordner Adobe Application Support fehlen eine oder mehrere Dateien, die für Photoshop erforderlich sind. Führen Sie das Installationsprogramm von PS aus und installieren Sie PS erneut."

Damit gehen aber alle meine Einstellungen verloren. Ich benutze einige Plug-ins. Es ist möglich, dass diese nicht mehr rekonstruierbar sind.

Ein Test zeigt, dass PS funktioniert, aber ich kann nicht alles probieren.

Ist eine Neu-Installation wirklich empfehlenswert? Wenn ja, muss ich die vorhandene Installation erst deinstallieren (Mac Papierkorb oder per PS-Deinstaller)?
