So I bought my adobe creative suite 6 back in 2014, around 2019 or 2020 I started using the new version so I was paying around $ 20 per month, times are not so good now so I canceled the service and I tried to re install my old adobe creative suite 6 and I get this message saying I have an unlicensed app, I called customer service and they told me after 2019 they no longer allow to install older versions even when I paid for it, it shows in my adobe online account, is not a stolen or downloaded illegally from the internet YET Adobe does not le me use something I legally bought
I just want to use the programs that came with my adobe creative suite 6 Production Premium
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html to remove subscription programs
Support is wrong... if your computer is compatible you may install and activate CS6 IF you bought from Adobe or an authorized sales partner so your serial number is valid

Reseller's response:
Verification of the serial number, its correctness, originality and 100% certainty of origin from Adobe is carried out during the activation and registration of the software. The manufacturer itself emphasizes this in many places on its website and in the license you have accepted. Additionally, an Adobe employee would never confirm a non-genuine product as commercial.
According to the seller, installation and registration is proof that the product was original since it was successfully installed and passed the registration process (in 2015).

This is nonsense and the reseller is either naïve or a fraud.

Ok, I noted. So successull registration is not a proof that the license is valid - serial number? Is that what you mean?
According to Adobe they introduced verification in 2016 and that's why I was able to install and register the product without problems in 2015? Is the information from Adobe in 2015 that I can use my serial number for commercial use without any consequences on their part? Didn't they mislead me with this? Why, if they did not verify serial numbers in 2015, did they write that yes, it can be used for commercial purposes? They shouldn't have written that since serial numbers weren't verified back then, right?

no, i mean exactly what i stated.
again a valid serial number can (and will change) to an invalid serial number (eg, with a tos violation).
if the discovery (by adobe) of that violation occurs 7.2 years after validation, that serial number will become invalid 7.2 years after initial validation.

What is tos violation?
The seller, referring to the provisions of the Adobe license, claims that "activation is the process by which Adobe verifies the software in order to detect and prevent illegal use and abuse of Adobe products and services. As part of activation, information is sent to Adobe at various such as downloading, installing, uninstalling, entering your serial number, launching and checking for updates to Adobe software."
If the activation process was successful in 2015, the serial number was verified (correct). I can't find the license records for Adobe CS6, so I'm not sure if the above provision was in effect at the time.

tos = terms of service.

i was thinking about this, why don't you ask adobe support "when" your license changed from valid to invalid?
i'm not sure what you could do about it, but if that occurred before you purchased, that would be interesting.

I asked about it (valid to inalid exact date) - they promised to send me an e-mail

hmm. we'll see.

was flag out 3 years after first registration due to invalid code.
The reason you’ve had access for so long is because you installed the serial number before Adobe ‘shut the door’ on the license. Once you had to reinstall that serial number, access was denied.

i don't even understand that, but i gather 3 years after you registered is when someone was invalidated. i would recontact adobe support and ask what that first sentence means, because that's not understandable (by me) english. perhaps that was written by someone more comfortable using another language.

This was my shortcut (my english is not good)
Adobe response:
We would like to inform you that the serial number which you were using was flag out in May 2018 due to invalid code.
So, in fact, the serial number changed from valid to invalid 3 years after the product was registered and installed (first installation in 2015).

did you already find out what occurred in may 2018 to trigger invalidation of your serial number?

I have not received such detailed information. They just found out about it at the time. I don't think they've told me anything else about it.

Adobe does not send out messages for this, even that they could do this for registered users.
My question still stays: did you buy directly from Adobe?

Today I contacted support via chat and asked for the exact serial number revocation date (when changed valid to invalid)
No, I have not bought from Adobe directly. I have bought from third party reseller as I wrote above.

ask, why was thw license revoked.

They generally reported that the serial number was not genuine. They did not indicate what exactly the irregularity was, how they came to it after 3 years. They also wrote that there is no support for unauthorized resellers
Should I ask for more?

again, i would ask.
also, i thought you bought from an authorized reseller, didn't you?

Adobe has confirmed that the reseller is not on the authorized list. So, no, reseller is not autorized.

unauthorized resellers are always a problem. adobe stopped selling cs6 in 2017. the reseller probably continued to sell thereby catching the attention of adobe and triggering the revokation of all their licenses.

If you still have packaged inventory, you are still allowed to sell. I suspect the retail version being an industrial falsification with serial numbers in a range not issued by Adobe. Or the serial number range has been retuned to Adobe as unsold inventory. At that time there was a huge black market for falscificated inventory. It may well be that a falscification workshop had been detected.
At least it looks like it never was a legit serial number.

From Adobe:
I would like to inform you that Adobe now runs validation tests and notifies individuals and organizations that are using non-genuine software or invalid code. The service checks for software tampering and invalid licenses for more information you can also check our official Adobe Genuine site: https://www.adobe.com/genuine.html
this test detected your software is not genuine.

Did you buy directly from Adobe? If you bought from a reseller, that reseller may well have sold the wrong package. If that is the case, you will be out of luck with Adobe. In all cases, Adobe will not provide a new licence code for a CS6 version.

I have bought from third party reseller and now I know that Adobe will not help me.
The seller still believes that since the registration was successful in 2015, the serial number was good and he does not feel guilty. I think that in this situation, the only thing left to do is pursue claims through legal means.
