Anyone using a Windows emulator to access CC for Ubuntu on Linux?

I moved from Windows (don't ask) to Linux - only to find that Adobe doesn't support Linux... weird. OK, Linux have emulator software that will allow any Windows programs to be accessed and used through the Linux platform.

However the CC downloader just looks at my system, says No, that's Linux, and we are frioghtened by Linux, go away.

Anyone got any ideas?

I love CC, and Adobe, but I just want to use Linux - and I can use an emulator - all I need is the ability to download the software.

I've still got iot on my unsable Windows partition - but if I try to access that software the entire Windows package will collapse.

Aaargh!

Romshina: I followed the instructions but with the same result.

Surely I can't be the only CC subscriber on Linux? If so Adobe are losing a big market.

The system property doesn't return the value Mac or Windows to the Creative Cloud desktop installer.

Creative Cloud desktop installer looks for only these OS before it is being installed:

Creative Cloud desktop App

• Microsoft® Windows 7 or 8

• Mac OS X v10.7 or v10.8

• Internet connection required

So Linux will never meet the requirements unless Creative Cloud desktop app is architectured to detect the Linux OS (whatever flavor of Linux you may be using). The best option for you is to run the installer on a VMWare configured on your Linux with Windows OS setup inside it. Then from within the Windows OS you can install CC.

Follow this link for VMWare configuration on UBUNTU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJsIzn2qOtI

Hi braiswick,

Download setup files of all the CC apps from here: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html, I am sure you will be able to run them.

Cheers!

Thanks Ankit - unfortunately Adobe still looks at my Linux and says 'You are running an operating system that InDesign no longer supports. Refer to the system requirements below for a full list of supported platforms.' Even when I've logged out!

There must be a way.
