Deactivation of CS5 giving error code #194:8

Hoping to reactivate this ( along with Adobe cloud ) on a new system. But first I need to deactivate. I've read other similar querstions and seen the answers pointing to Adobe help and support. I've also read of people having new activation codes issued to help with this. That seems my best option. For this I'll need to get in contact with an adviser. How? (can't use the phone)

When you have a non-functioning computer and can't deactivate a serial number
BE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNT
    Click here for a non-Cloud program http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-c1.html

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions
    -also https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/create-local-administrator-account-windows.html

Thanks for the install tips! The link to adobe help sends me in loops though. How do I actually talk to an advisor by email or by private chat here to give my information to resolve the issue?

Markg34580232, try using a different browser, smartphone, or tablet to begin the chat session.  The current browser settings, add-ons, or plug-ins are likely blocking that chat session.

Reading the topic title it seeems you think you need to Deactivate CS5 before you can install it on a,what you are calling, NEW computer.

What kind of computer, Mac or Win PC?

Which OS is running on this New computer?

Then comes the question. Why are you trying to install and activate CS5 if you have a Creative Cloud Subscription?

This is exactly my problem , I can't deactivate it because it gives me that error code when I attempt to 🙂 . I don't have the new computer yet. New one will be a Windows PC running Win 10

I want to run the old software because when creating animations I can make them twice as long in the old software without lag. This may be different on the new hardware but I'd like to experiment. Simply put it would save a great deal of work time if the older one is better suited to this task for me on the new hardware aswell.  I bought CC sub to create mandalas 😄 and assume it's more geared to newer hardware. But like I say I'd like to test that out.

Yes I only assume I need to deactivate  it because I have used my 2 installs. The other is on a main computer which I dont wish to deactivate.

Thanks for the update, Markg34580232.  If you no longer plan to use the computer facing the deactivation error, then I would not recommend spending time resolving the file permission or corruption error.

Please try activating CS5 on the new computer and see if you encounter any errors.  If you do reach your activation limit, then you can use the process listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/activation-deactivation-help.html to request additional activations.

Also, if you are transferring anything from this computer to the new computer, then please make sure to not move any Adobe applications.  If you copy the applications over, it could cause additional errors on the new computer.  I would recommend only transferring any needed documents and settings and then reinstalling the applications you need on the new computer.

Markg34580232. what happened to the computer prior to you attempting to deactivate Creative Suite 5?  If you do a clean install, on the new computer, do you receive any error messages when you attempt to activate CS5?  Finally, what operating system will you be installing Creative Suite 5 on?

Thanks for the reply. Nothing has happened to the computer. I still run it but its too slow and Photoshop doesnt get used on there. The new computer hasn't arrived yet it's currently being assembled and stress tested by a company. The new computer will be Win 10. Current is win 7
