In this case , you  need to enable Root user account .

So that you can login  as root user and still access Desktop files which are on your Regular account :

Step to enable Root user account :

OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user

(Applies for Yosemite as well)

How to log in as root

Use these steps in Snow Leopard and later to log in as the root user.

  1. If you are logged in, choose Log Out from the Apple menu.
  2. If you are logging in from a list of usernames with pictures, click Other.
  3. In the Name field, type: root
  4. In the Password field, type the password you defined when setting up the root user account.

Also try to clear Font Cache once and check.

If still same , we can proceed with further steps.

Is the font cache in the preferences folder? Yes the root steps i tried and see those steps..that will definitely help once i get it running on any side- i will then revert back to those steps , but just really want to get it up and running first...Ive installed and uninstalled several times previously to yesterday..

Please refer above link I mentioned.

Chad ,

the ultimate step we can try is , removing all Adobe applications , both Adobe folders under ~/library /Application Support and /library /Application Support .

Trash All Adobe folder and files from computer and perform clean installation .

Before that you can try with Font Cache clean once.
