I've been also experiencing similar problems with illustrator crashing. I'm on a maxos 10.7.5. A work around I read elsewhere seems to get me going but is a probelm in itself. So i read to clear the apps preference data (holing shift+option+command during program launch) and everything works fine. My initial probelm was the inability to save .eps or .png file formats but I then started getting other crashes. From not being able to open a document, not being able to place .eps files, to crashing when creating a new doc and now when launching. Hopefully this will help in the interum till some kind of patch fixes this.

Thank you, but it did't helped, all languages are set up, and, as i said, i installed all fonts from contend installer pack. I also tried to launch it with left shift pressed to clear font cache.

No, this mac always had macos
