I recently purchased the monthly student illustrator membership and I keep hitting a wall for installing the software. Everywhere I've looked thus far I've been told that I simply need to update my Windows 8.1 64-bit to the latest version. Well... I've done all the updates I'm aware exist and I continue to encounter the following installation error:
I click the retry and it just refreshes to the same screen. I click learn more and it just takes me back to same window shown above telling me I still have updates required. I go to "more information" and am essentially prompted to update my Windows in the exact same manner that I had just followed. I eventually fall down a rabbit hole to this page instructing me to update my laptop in the exact same way I had previously done it.
I keep going around in circles and eventually resort to contacting customer support. I click the 24-hr chat option and nothing happens. Perhaps I don't have the correct extension to participate in a live chat, or maybe that option has been disabled. I don't know. I will call someone once I get the chance, however that'll have to wait for a week day when I'm available between 8AM and 5PM. And alas, here I am, resorting to a community forum for help with this issue.
I've spent the better part of the day trying to install illustrator now. As you can imagine, having purchased the Creative Cloud membership and wasting most of my day trying to update my PC to Illustrator's standards and yet I cannot access the program, I am now very frustrated.
I'd greatly appreciate any advice that anyone may know of to circumvent this issue. More importantly, advice that doesn't lead me to these following pages:
Error :api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing
I must be missing something rather simple and fundamental, because there's no way that I'm simply barred from using Illustrator just because I have a Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Thanks
