    What software are you trying to install?  On what operating system?

    Vogelgrau is that Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop 6 you are trying to install on Windows 8?

    Assuming it is Photoshop CS6 you will want to review your PDApp.log to determine the error which is causing the installer to fail to initialize.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the PDApp.log in Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

    run setup as an admin.  if that fails, attach a screenshot of the error message

    your install logs will still need to be checked.  follow ja wright's link and have those ready to discuss with adobe support because, i think, you will have difficulty resolving this on your own:  http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html
