Licensing CS4 and CS5 with active serial numbers: why fail? LOCKED, DUPLICATE

I have licenses for FW CS4, DrW CS4 and AI CS5. I changed from a Mac Pro 2009 to a Mac Mini 2018, with OS X 10.14.3.

Downloading all 3 programs work with the help of the Adobe-page. At installation of the programs, typing the serial numbers for registration left me with a red cross at the end of the serial number line and I cannot go on further. The team of Adobe checked my licenses and serial numbers, they are allright and valid. Suprisingly, launching the trial versions (no license needed) do work smoothly! So the programs can run on OS X 10.14.3, that’s not the problem. Only the verification of the licenses fail obviously. Launching the trial and trying to registrate afterwards, gave me the same red cross. I have tried everything that was suggested, cleaned my Mac from all Adobe files, started all over again, nothing worked.

So, is anyone at Adobe willing to help me? Let’s switch serial numbers, for instance. Or have the registration procedure repaired, or something like that. Anyone an idea?

Grz, Ton

    Hi Preran,

Now can anyone of the Adobe board help me out? I have valid serial numbers (as checked by Adobe), FW DrW CS4 and AI CS5 can run as trial versions on OSX 10.14.3, but the registration of valid serial numbers fail. There must be some way out, don’t you agree?

Locking this discussion as it is a duplicate of Registration CS4 and CS5 application fail?

Activation servers for CS4 and CS5 should still be working.  That red X could indicate your product is an upgrade that needs a qualifying version's serial number first.   If you registered your products online, you could possibly find your other serial numbers by logging-in to your Adobe Account at link below.

Dear Nancy, I am already using the serial numbers that are shown in my Adobe Account page. The help team has checked these numbers several times, so they must be the right ones. Maybe you are right and should Adobe give me new qualifying numbers.

I can't issue new serial numbers.  Nobody here can.

You have to contact support and plead your case to them.

My guess is that the reason your installations do not verify is that the Adobe servers which originally operated the verification process have been permanently retired. (That's how old those versions are.) Without being able to close that loop, your installations fail. Likely, your only recourse is to choose one of the subscription plans Adobe now offers.

I thought that the verification servers for CS4 were still running.  I know that CS3 servers were decommissioned.  But if the CS4 servers are not running now, it must have been done very recently.

In any case, Adobe should be able to issue you a new key that should work, if the current (and correct) keys do not validate.

Thanks, I agree. I already suggested a switch of serial numbers, disable the old numbers and work with the new ones. A fair deal I think.
