I am trying to move my Photoshop CS4 from my macbook to my iMac. My macbook does not have a complete serial number. It is missing the last 4 numbers. I no longer have the original package. How can I finish the migration of the software to my new computer?

Mac Migration and Time Machine DO NOT WORK with Adobe program activations due to hidden registration files

After you run the Mac program found in the link above to get your serial number, you must DE-activate on the old computer and then do a fresh install on the new computer

Also, for OLD programs on a new Mac, there is another step you must take

This information is a MUST DO to install old programs on Mac El Capitan

-you may not get the same error message, but these two links will help with old programs

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455 may help (also for other than CS5)

-also a TEMPORARY security change https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2039319

There is a way to copy your entire user over to your new Mac. It's called Migration Assistant.

You are probably right. Come to think of it, as a CC addict, everything came over using Migration Assist just fine, but then we installed all the Adobe apps using Creative Cloud.
