People are going to complain no matter what Adobe does. Period. Guessing most of the complaining is coming from the people who never had to outright buy full versions of multiple software packages. The many many thousands of dollars to purchase say, premiere pro, photoshop and aftereffects was a huge chunk of change. In the range of $6k to get the full versions of those three. Yes, prices came down a bit before the subscription model started, but still. Now days, since I have been with Adobe for a while I guess, my current pricing is $29 a month for every Adobe application they have. That's only $348 a year. It would take me 17 years at that price to equal the amount I used to have to pay for just 3 applications, and now I have them all. Oh, and that $6k didn't include updates and new versions or anything else. When a new version came out, if you wanted it, you shelled out thousands of dollars again. No, I'm good with this pricing and have no issue with a monthly payment as low as it is now.

Absurd pricing. If Autodesk ads vectorial work and lip sync tools adobe is out of the picture. Ridiculous pricing. A studio can pay for it. Beginners and enthusiasts get abused. used to pay $75 for all the services but more on top of that? Abusive. Simply abusive and distasteful.

    In France, the annual subscription to Creative Cloud is 719.86 euros (equivalent would be about 1150 AUD), which is why most hobbyists have switched to competitors, considering the average wage in France is much lower than in Australia (20% to 40% lower, depending on region and qualifications). My company has also given up Adobe CC for obvious financial reasons. In Europe, Adobe is now targeting big professional design studios and that's all. And I think it is not a bad decision for a company whose single purpose is to make as much money as possible (as most companies are), regardless of what old customers or small companies think. They are a professional standard, this is not going to change in a near future, why should they change anything ? They could try to get more subscriptions by lowering the price but they will never take that risk. As an individual, I've tried Photoshop Elements, but I'm done with it and I'm working with Affinity Photo now. I still miss Photoshop, it was a great product. I might be interested if there was an option to subscribe for a bundle of 2 or 3 apps (for instance, Premiere and After Effects together would make sense), but no way... They're selling one app or all apps together and I'm not ready to spend 720 euros per year for two apps. Above all, the pricing differences between Europe and the rest of the world are not acceptable.

      The US price and the European price is approximately the same except the the US price is without sales taxes (VAT/TVA) and Adobe uses a conversion of 1:1 (to be fair also when they do payouts).

      Adobe products where never meant for the occasional hobbyist. The last CS6 Photoshop did cost 1000€. The most expensive suite was around 5000€.

      My company has increased the licenses from 4 to 7 since changing to the subscription. And our invest is not higher than the upgrade costs we had before. So basically we saved 15000€.

      All companies I know are either still on the perpetual CS6 license and are getting in trouble because their OS does not fully support it any more or their OS is no more supported by Apple or Microsoft or they are happy users of a subscription.

      There are alternatives out (I worked with some of them), but generally using the latest versions of CC helps us saving money.

      And for your information: the all apps plan is based on numbers that the average user handles 3 Adobe programs.

      And I do not know about the working hours in Australia, but your average working week is 35 hours, which may explain some of your lower salary.

      This said, Affinity is a great product for some use, but as you said, you miss Ps.

        It's now 6 years later and they've raised the price to $89.99 a month <for the monthly plan - kglad>. Still feeling the same way?

          Yes, it is. I live in the USA and looked at the prices less than 24 hours ago. It's $59.99/month if you agree to the yearly plan (billed all at once) or $89.99/month if you pay monthly.
