Hi,
I got the following message below when installing After Effects using the Creative Cloud desktop app,
Progress is slower than usual. Working on resolving issue...
The installation stuck at 92% for a short while but did actually complete and run just fine.
I’m just wondering what the actual issue was!
I’m guessing that the data transfer from the Adobe servers stopped for a short while and the issue was fixed by resuming the download, can anyone clarify this?
Cheers,
Chris

It could be that your internet connection was throttled down and slow.
It happens to me often, as my DSL is only 1-3 Mbps.

My connection speed is downloading around 54 Mbps and uploading around 20 Mbps so I’m not sure it’s fault of my connection.
I’m hoping that if the installation is complete then the application is installed correctly without any problems.
Are all your Adobe apps running fine without any problems once the install is completed?
All seems fine this end!

TechnosRMS, if you are seeing slow download speeds, for Adobe Creative Cloud applications, on a new computer, then please check the settings of any installed utility or security software and verify there are no updates available. A misconfigured software firewall, for example, could lead to the connection being blocked or slowed down while the traffic is reviewed.
You can also check the installation logs to see if any specific errors occurred during the download and installation process. Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-installation-log-files.html for information on how to locate any fatal errors. If you have any questions about the errors discovered, then please feel free to update this public forum discussion.

Jeff, when the download stops for a while at say 80% and you get the Progress is slower than usual message…, what actually is the CC desktop app doing to resolve the issue?
I’m guessing that communication from the Adobe server has stopped responding and to resolve the issue, the download client reconnects to the server to resume the download?
It’s just nice to know what is actually happening in the background for peace of mind 🙂
Download speed seems fine by the way, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and XD installed without any problems at all, but After Effects stops near the end of the download, although it does complete in the end after a short while. Does this mean the installation was 100% successful?
After Effects does seem to be running fine without any problems.
Cheers

By @TecnosRMS
Yes. Even though it takes a long time for me, they have always installed properly.

TecnosRMS, you are correct the downloads could be interrupted. Our engineering teams have done fantastic work at increasing the resiliency of the download process, especially in the last couple of years. Instead of downloads being stuck or slow they use to fail completely due to a variety of errors.
The log files should have the answer for you, TeconosRMS. You can use your favorite text editor to search for any error messages using the process listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-installation-log-files.html. Please remember the log files are appended each time, so the most recent errors will be at the bottom of the file. Since the download is completed they will likely be warning errors as opposed to fatal errors.
Please update this discussion if you have any questions about the errors that are discovered. You are also welcome to bookmark this discussion and update it at your convenience as you may be anxious to get back to the process of being creative in the installed Adobe applications, TecnosRMS.
