Slow download time

Why does Adobe not take into account people with slow broadband connections, all these new updates mean I can't actually use the damn things for a week whilst they download. There simply isn't an option for a faster broadband where I live.

Why can't Adobe arrange it so that you can pause/resume the downloads that would help a bit at least.
