The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem. The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid. Please contact the application author.

that wouldn't be a download error unless you're using some kind of download manager/assistant that's also trying to install.  do you have a download manager/assistant?

or is that an installation error and, if so, what program (name/version) are you trying to install?

    It's an installation error.

What is happening is my InDesign CS5.5 became corrupted. So I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it. Unfortunately I kept getting error messages like this: "Install.app" can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.

So then I clicked on the ? in the corner of the error message and I got this: "The app's authorization has been revoked.

Although this app was signed by an identified developer, the certificate for the app has been revoked. There may be a problem with it. The app cannot be opened.

I have never seen this before, it is frustrating. I have upgraded my iMac to Mac OS X 10.8 thinking that would help with the installation, but it did not.

    Please help!
