Tried to call Adobe

I am a Creative Cloud member and needed help with installing Lightroom to a new computer. The phone number used and I believed to be Adobe's Hot Line 800 833-6687. I was able to install my Creative Clouds apps and Lightroom catalog to my laptop. I had to call them again the following day to resolve a fix. It appears I have been calling a company named Windows PC Support. I was told I needed to purchase a $299 software to fix a virus. Has anybody had similar problems and what is Adobe Hot Line Support correct number?

I called Adobe in San Jose and the receptionist answering the phone stated their support phone had had been changed. She stated I should be calling the new number 800 642-3623. I did finally get my problem resolved but only after I insisted on speaking to a manager and explaining to him that the first two service reps hung up on me! I am still receiving emails and phone calls from someone who states they are from Adobe trying to sell me a $299 software fix for a virus problem they state I have on my computer. What is very strange is the rep that said I had a problem put a notepad on my desktop listing the problems and the company that was suppose to fix it was Windows PC Services. Does Adobe have anything to do with this company or is this a total scam?
