I'd like to know if it is still possible to upgrade my creative suite to CS6, since I will never ever ever ever ever ever accept the subscription format I have zero interest in the Creative Cloud, so don't even bother suggesting I should upgrade to that.
I'm only interested in knowing if it's possible to upgrade and how.
Yes Nancy and John it is very unlikely that anyone can find a boxed copy of Creative Suite 6. If someone does proceed though it would be preferred that they do make the purchase through an Adobe Authorized Reseller. Not only should they then be able to purchase a legitimate copy, if available, but there should be a return policy, in place, in case the copy is not legitimate.
Please feel free to refer individuals to the Adobe Authorized Reseller finder at Adobe Partner Connection Portal.

No, there is no possibility of upgrading via Adobe. They no longer sell any Creative Suite products at all. It's Cloud memberships only.
You'll have to take your chances on the reseller market and secondhand market. Beware of pirated copies.

My understanding is that Adobe officially stopped selling Creative Suite in January. CS6 is nor legitimately for sale through any channel in any country, from any vendor or reseller. The only way to obtain legacy CS6 is through a paid Creative Cloud subscription.
Creative Cloud software downloads & installs on your computer the same as it always has. CC is merely a distribution, update and pay to lease model. You can try it free for 7 days. However, CS6 is not available to trial members. You must be a paid member to access older software versions from the CC Desktop app. See screenshot.

Jeff Wright posted his reply in a message thread concerning finding a boxed version of a Creative Suite product... saying (I paraphrased his reply) that looking for an old boxed copy should be done only at official Adobe partners... so what I took away from that is that if someone DOES find an official partner with an old box in inventory, that it is legal

I'm not disputing you, John. It's probably a moot point anyway since the boxed versions are probably long gone.

I'm sure you're right... one version back is fairly common (Amazon still sells Premiere Elements 14 - or did the last time I looked when someone asked about a 32bit video editor) but CS6 is old enough that the odds are low of finding one from a valid vendor

Creative Suite 6 does continue to also be available through a full Creative Cloud membership. So this is another option if an individual requires Creative Suite 6 due to collaboration or compatibility concerns. The Creative Suite 6 versions of the applications can be found under the Previous Version option in the Creative Cloud desktop app. Details on how to install Previous Versions can be found at Download and install Creative Cloud apps.
