Converting AdobeCC app from on prem to Cloud

Just before I go digging and endless testing, has anyone moved from using the AdobeCC Update server to letting users download straight from Adobe's servers?

Quite a few years back we had to create the update server because our proxy was not very good so created an on prem update server, but now we have overhauled everything and now using Zscaler and can bypass and tunnel to go directly out using the user's internet connection. We've still got the settings to pull from the update server but want to make it as easy as possible to remove the settings, so their AdobeCC app talks directly out.

I have 2 theories that may or may not work and wondered if anyone has done it

1. I just create a PowerShell script to remove the AdobeUpdater.Overrides file and AdobeCC will start pulling direct from Adobe?

2. Create a new package that doesn't point to our server and deploy that, and it will remove the AdobeUpdater.Overrides file once that is done?

Any help before I go into the repetitive testing of every possible way would be appreciated lol

some apps can be downloaded directly, but it's difficult to implement and not a good long-term solution because it's counter to adobe's efforts.

I don't think you undersood the ask, when you create a package in Adobe Packager it asks if you want it to "Redirect to internal Adobe update server" which uses your .overrides file from teh server to create the package. I need to know, now we want to point to cloud only downloads and not use the internal server anymore do we just create a new Self-service package with the option unticked and when that installs it will remove any previous config or will I need to physically create a script to remove the config file created from the previous packge that is on the machine?
