Hi!
I have a similar problem with an VDI (vWorkspace) platform... Our customer is deploying a test enviroment and he uses the Adobe CS6 suite, therefore we need to provide a solution to achive a correct licencing of the VDI machines.
Until now the parent virtual template can be licenced properly, if the templaet is replicated into child template then the user logs in and validates its adobe licence... However if the child template is reaprovisioned or if the user logs into a different child template, then he must validate again the licence as if it was a new installation.
Is there any info about how to apply a redirection folder of the local licence files? maybe a modification on the registry on local machine?
Thanks in adavance....
Hi,
I have found some interesting data at registry keys:
- HKLocalMachine\Software\Adobe
- HKLocalMachine\Software\Wow6432Node\Adobe <-- especially here
I think that if we get the correct registry path, we could make a custom ADMX template to implement it via GPO. This ADMX template should allow the VDI desktop to store the local adobe licencing info into a different path (an external one).
The whole idea is that the VDI user could log into its VDI session without losing its licencing each time its VDI desktop machine is reaprovisioned (regenerated).
Thanks
PS1. We have also asked our adobe reseller for this info and they have send us to this tech support forums.
PS2. In our case is not a volume licence.
