Thank you. This was very useful.
However, there was one unexpected problem, and I would like to know if there is a way around it. I first installed Adobe CC on the C drive, as it must be done. Then, I installed Lightroom on the D drive (like I wanted it to).
However, the following program I installed — Dreamweaver — got installed on the C drive! IS this because DW is an older program that cannot be run on a different drive? Is there a way to move it to the D drive?
Thank you so much for your attention and participation.
JC.

what's the install location shown in the cc desktop app preferences? eg, copy and paste a screenshot showing that preference.

I first installed Adobe CC on the C drive (as there is no way around it). Next, in the Preferences > Apps > Install Location, I indicated that I wanted to install all Apps in D:\Program Files. Following that, I installed Lightroom on the D drive without issues.

(in the future, copy/paste is preferred over attaching.)
now, use your file explorer to check D:\Program Files
is anything there?

Thanks again!
The folder D:\Program Files includes the following subfolders:
However, the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe incldes the following subfoders:
I expected Dreamweaver (installed after Acrobat and Lightroom) to be on the D drive.

do you want dreamweaver 2021?

I am interested in the latest version of Dreamweaver Desktop. I downloaded and installed the only DW option on the Adobe CC panel. My Adobe CC is through work (a university), offering a slew of programs.
After installation, I looked at Help > About Dreamweaver, and I can see that it is version 21.6 (Build 15711). That is confusing because the following page lists the current version of DW as the August 2025 release (version 21.6):
https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/whats-new.html
So, do I have DW 2021 or 2025?
Is there a way of moving it to the D drive?
Thanks and best regards.

assuming your os is compatible with the current dw (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html) change your cc desktop app install preferences to where dw 2021 is currently installed. then use the cc desktop app to uninstall dw 2021.
then change the install preferences to your d drive\program files and install the current dw version.

Thanks, but I might not have made myself completely clear earlier.
What I did, step-by-step, is listed below:
Do you still recommend I do the following?
I am happy to give it a shot. But why that would work beats me!
By the way, I genuinely appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Indeed, something is wrong! 🙂
And, yes, DW 2021 is installed. Within it, the Help > About Dreamweaver reads Version 21.6 (Build 15711).

Which drive contains your Operating System?
That's the drive where DW should be installed.

Taylor, I am sorry you are unable to install to a custom install location. I don't see an individual subscription under the account you used to post to this public discussion forum.
What type of Creative Cloud membership are you using? Does the same organization that manages your email address also manage the computer and network that you are using, Taylor?
The very helpful suggestion offered by Kglad will only be effective for individual subscribers with unrestricted access to the device and network they are using. ^JW

[Who is Taylor?]
I was able to install Acrobat and Lightroom on the D drive by choosing the install preferences in Adobe CC to D:\Program Files. After installing those two files, when I installed Dreamweaver, it inexplicably got installed on the C drive.
My Creative Cloud [Enterprise] membership is through the University of North Texas. It is authorized to me and tied to the email account in my profile. However, this computer is standalone (at home) and not on a University network. I have unrestricted access to the device.
Thank you for trying to help, but my problem remains unresolved.

JC, my apologies, since you responded to two separate older public discussions, which have now been merged, you are not showing up properly, but instead the author who originally posted..
The solutions provided by Kglad are accurate, JC, but they will not be effective for a Creative Cloud for Team or Enterprise subscription. For your next steps, please show this discussion to someone locally who can help you. Your school's Creative Cloud plan administrator can unblock you from any installation and download errors you are encountering, JC.

Thank you, Jeffrey_A_Wright!
Since you mentioned, "solutions provided by Kglad are accurate," do you suggest that I follow their directions, which were as follows:
By the way, my school's school's Creative Cloud plan administrator does not block or unblock anything for installations on my computer at home.

JC.

Yes, those steps will be effective for an individual to install Dreamweaver in the Program Files on the D: Drive.
That is good news, JC. Show your Creative Cloud administrator this public discussion so they can help you further. ^JW
