Multiple accounts on 1 device

Community Beginner ,
Mar 21, 2022 Mar 21, 2022

Hi
Is it posible to be logged in with different accounts in different apps?
I have an account at work with all the apps, that I use for InDesign and Illustrator.
Then I have a personal photo plan I want to use just for my private photos, and use with Lightroom.

Is this somehow possible? When I try to log out of light room with my work profile it says it will log out of all apps...

It IS possible to have different accounts on one computer but NOT at the same time

Sign OUT of account A to be able to sign IN to account B to use different programs

You may NOT be signed in to both account A and account B at the same time

Hi there,

You can activate your Creative Cloud subscription on two machines and use one at a time.

You can use only one account on a machine.

Do let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Kanika

You really ought to make it possible to switch between multiple accounts!

But thanks for the answer...

^^^ This. Your login to any Creative Cloud tool (including the Desktop app) will sign in that account to all apps on that machine.

Not a very good solution though. I should be possible to switch account dirrectly in the app, without having to log out of everything every time

hi having the same issues.... - use adobe acrobat for work - which requires business licence - no problems, but I have to sign out of ALL my personal adobe apps to be able to sign in - and vice versa, so at end of work day if i want to sue photoshop or lightroom and i have sign out and resign in -  Why can't I just switch accounts? then have acces to only those apps licenced under that app?

You sign out only at one place and sign in to a different account at that same place.

The system is configured that you license a computer and not an individual application on a computer. My guess is, that some interoperability build in to the applications won't work any more when switching applications on an individual application basis. Not to talk about the level of complexity this would add.

A proper way to do it though would be to have a switch profile function instead.

this is very painful. I have a corporate account and a personal account. the corporate account include certain apps, the personal others. every time I sign in on the corportae one lightroom deletes all the local copies of my cloud photos. it should really be a per app sign in rather then a global one. it already works like that on ipad and it's perfect.

Yes, I'm having this same issue. When I sign out of my personal account to use my work account (for adobe acrobat), adobe has deleted and replaced my entire CC cloud folder including all my photos in it. When I'm done, and logged back into my personal account I get to redownload 20 GB of data, yay!

This needs to be changed to a per-app sign-in, and users personal data should never be deleted for a machine like this. Very frustrated with Adobe right now.

I never did sign in to my private account on my work computer and vice versa, just to avoid that. Even looking into it, from a professional perspective, it's not very clean to have private stuff on a work computer and work stuff on a private computer.

Just to amend the above post, I went digging around in terminal, the Creative Cloud Folders are not deleted for the user that is not signed in, they are just marked as "hidden" by MacOS.

While I agree, that it would be cleaner to keep my work/home life completely separate from a device point of view, it's not always practical in the "real world". I'm not going to carry around two phones, two laptops etc...
