Revoke generative AI features in Admin Console

This Article describes how to disable generative AI features:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/disable-generative-ai.html

"Note: If you're an admin and want to revoke access to generative AI features for your team or org, contact Adobe Customer Care ."

Contacting Adobe Customer Care was a frustating experience. In the end I got this descirbtion to revoke generative AI features in the Admin Console. Me and my collegaue checked everything, but we can not find this setting:

"I would like to ask you to follow the steps below:
To disable AI features in the Admin Console, navigate to the appropriate settings section (e.g.
“Product Configuration” or ‘Feature Settings’) and either disable the AI feature or customize the access levels to specific users."

After that message the Adobe Customer Care left the chat and I got a mmesage about a solved request.

Has anyone had similar experiences or does anyone know the solution to revoke generative AI features in the Admin Console?

Hi @AbodeBildschirmname,

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced.

Based on your query, I understand you'd like to disable generative AI features for all users under your organization’s Adobe Teams contract. Please confirm if you need assistance with this query.

After reviewing your account, I can confirm that you have an active Teams plan associated with the Adobe ID used to post this inquiry.

Unfortunately, the Adobe Admin Console does not currently have a built-in option to globally disable generative AI features for all users.

However, if you would like to disable the AI Assistant in Acrobat specifically, you can do so using the following registry key on each user’s device:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown

bEnableGentech = 0

I recommend opening a support case again directly through the Admin Console for further assistance and to formally log your request.

Please feel free to update this thread if you need any further support or if your issue remains unresolved after trying the above steps. We're here to help.

Regards,

^AN

Hi @AbodeBildschirmname,

Thank you for reaching out.

After reviewing your account, I can confirm that you have an active Teams plan associated with the Adobe ID used to submit this inquiry. If you would like to disable generative AI features in Acrobat, Acrobat Reader, and Adobe Scan to prevent documents from being processed by AI, please refer to the following guide:
Disable Generative AI in Acrobat Products

As outlined in the documentation, if you wish to disable the AI Assistant in Acrobat specifically, this can be done by setting the following registry key on each user’s device:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown

bEnableGentech = 0

If you are an admin and would like to revoke access to generative AI features for your team or organization, we recommend contacting Adobe Customer Care. You can open a support case directly through the Admin Console to ensure your request is formally recorded. Instructions for submitting a support request can be found here:
Support for Teams – Adobe Admin Console

We hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Regards,
^AN

Thank you, I contacted Adobe Chat again from the admin console.

In the first chat they said, I don't have to worry, it is deactivated. I verified it and it was not true.

In the second chat they said, due our reseller the process to deactivate generative AI features is not possible (Adobe has limited access).

Now I will contact our reseller.
