Be creative & productive from Home: Use Creative Cloud for enterprise & teams subscriptions.

As businesses and schools are reacting to workplace disruptions in the wake of the COVID-19 caused restrictions and workspace closures, many of us around the world are working from home.   

 

No matter where you work from, it helps to have a routine and rituals that help you navigate your workday from home. Build your daily routines and set up a work area where you can work. Expect a few hiccups as you find your mojo, but that you’ll need to do on your own. 

 

The following six steps will help you continue your work with Adobe Creative Cloud, wherever you might be. We’re hoping it’ll help you remain organized, creative, and effective as we navigate this territory that is new to most of us.  

 

  1. Set up your computer and network 

Hardware and devices 

Creative Cloud app and services are supported by most modern computers, laptops, and mobile devices. Before installing the apps, review the Creative Cloud System Requirements for the apps you’d like to install. 

 

Internet connections and networks 

Any stable broadband connection will suffice. However, based on how much data will be consumed in installing or transferring files, you could consider upgrading your internet plan. Also, if you connect to your home network over wi-fi, consider moving your router or access point closer to your working area, especially if you’ve carved out your workspace in the farthest corner at home. 

If you use Single-Sign-On (SSO), work with your IT department to ensure that your authentication network is accessible outside the office or campus network. 

 

  1.  Access your Creative Cloud apps 

Desktop apps 

Sign-in to your office or school account to download and install the latest versions of Creative Cloud desktop apps on your computer. If you’re currently signed in on two computers, you may be asked to remotely sign out from one of them.  

 

It may also make sense to check that the version you’re installing is compatible with the version your colleagues or partners are using for current projects. If you need to go one version back, you can install it yourself. However, for older versions, you’ll need to ask your IT Admin to share a package that includes the specific versions you require. 

 

If your projects or work require third-party plugins for Creative Cloud apps, remember to contact your Admin or the vendor. You may require additional installers or information about version compatibility. 

For educational users, who only have Lab access to Creative Cloud apps, Adobe is offering a limited time at-home access to the latest versions of desktop apps. If your Admin hasn’t already requested access via this program, share this article with them to request access for your campus. 

 

Mobile and web apps 

Your Creative Cloud subscription also provides access to several powerful and capable mobile and web apps. Do explore the mobile apps and web apps to see if you can use these for your projects. 

For example, you can use Adobe Fresco or Adobe Photoshop on your compatible mobile devices. For work with documents, you can use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Scan to work with PDFs or to scan paper documents. Similarly, you can use Adobe Spark family of apps for quick deliverables such as posts, flyers, posters, webpages, or videos. Spark is available both as mobile apps and browser-based service. For slightly more advanced videos, Adobe Rush is a good option. 

 

  1.  Save your files and access services 

Your content stored on Creative Cloud, such as Files, and CC Libraries among others, is accessible to you via the Creative Cloud website or directly within your apps, as applicableOnce you’ve signed in with your account you can access all your creative assets and files from Creative Cloud. 

 

File Sync 

The Creative Cloud Desktop app can also sync your assets to your local computer and keeps all files in sync. Note that first time sync of all files can consume significant bandwidth and disc space if you have much data in the cloud. You can pause File Sync if don’t want the files stored locally. 

Or if your organization policy does not allow file sync at all, request your IT Admin to create and distribute a packagewhich has file sync disabled. 

 

Creative Cloud Services 

All Creative Cloud services are associated with your user account, rather than your desktop apps. You should have continued access to all services, such as Fonts or Colors, that you had access to from your workspace or school. 

 

Learn new skills and apps 

While at home, you can continue to learn and share, as you go about your daily work. You can learn about the new apps and services through Creative Cloud Tutorials. You can also keep track of your learning and tutorial progress. And you can test your progress by participating in Daily Creative Challenges. 

Or follow along, as experts screencast their work on Adobe Live and share their portfolios on Behance. 

 

  1. Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and customers 

Creative Cloud also has robust collaboration features for you and your teams to be more productive.  

You can use Creative Cloud to share and collaborate on filesfolders, or libraries. Or you can use Acrobat DC to share and comment on PDFs. Some apps, such as Adobe XD also have deeply integrated features for real-time collaboration. 

Adobe is also offering collaboration and conferencing support by providing an extended free 90-day trial of Adobe Connect. 

 

  1.  Share and ask for help 

Stay abreast of the latest news on how Adobe is committed to you during this time.
