Creative Cloud desktop menu bar icon flashing, glitch

I can’t be the only one with this problem. I first encountered this issue on macOS Sierra: the CC icon in the top-right menu bar icon keeps quickly flashing, shifting, disappearing and moving to the right as if something else is loading.

It is incredibly distracting.

So I eventually found myself reinstalling my iMac to Mac OS X El Capitan yesterday. Creative Cloud is the sole thing I have installed on this machine. The glitch continues, leading me to believe it is an Adobe issue. Please recommend a fix—or, at least, let me know it is being looked into.

Testing this out with Creative Cloud closed, and the problem persists. Thank you, sorry for the trouble. It must be a Mac OS thing persisting across both El Capitan and Sierra. :/

Moving the discussion to Adobe Creative Cloud forum.

Hi Eglinski,

I would request you to close all the following processes using Activity Monitor and re-launch Creative Cloud.

  • CreativeCloud
  • Adobe CEF Helper`
  • Adobe Desktop Service
  • AdobeIPCBroker
  • Creative Cloud
  • Adobe Installer
  • AdobeUpdateDaemon
  • AdobeServiceInstaller
  • AAM Update Notifier
  • CCLibrary
  • node
  • Core Sync

You may look for other conflicting processes using this link:- Close conflicting processes or applications interfering with Adobe Creative Cloud app update or install.

If this doesn't work, please try to turn of sync , go to:- Preference> Creative Cloud> Files and "Turn Off" the sync from there and observe the behavior.

Please feel free to update the results after trying these steps, we would be happy to take it further.

Thanks.

Keeping in mind this was affecting my last install of macOS Sierra, and Creative Cloud is literally the only thing I have on this most recent, fresh install of Mac OS El Capitan.

There are 2 instances of Adobe CEF Helper running, 3 AdobeCRDaemon.

Will shut them all down, restart, and see if the menu bar icon glitch persists.
