how do I know if this pre-activated product is authentic

I bought a second-hand version of After Effects CS6, without documentation

the case and DVD ROM looks genuine, it has a small serial number on it (not the 20 digit number for installation)

there is a notice on the back of the CD case, that writes:

This trade copy is licensed for business usage...

This product is pre-activated for trade purposes on a pre-registered and pre-paid license. Phone activation and registration is not available nor required.

Elsewhere on the back of the case it writes: This software will only operate with activation.  (sounds strange to me)

The readme text file on the disc writes that in order to use this program, one must copy all the folders to the hard disk and install from there.

IS THIS AUTHENTIC? Did Adobe make such discs?

I see on the forums that someone had Photoshop CS6 that was pre-activated

Please enlighten me as to what type of disc this is.

This has been seen before. It's a nicely labelled package made by pirates to bypass Adobe's licensing checks, with plausible sounding but complete nonsense words. It might run for a few months until Adobe catch up and block it.

Hi

Adobe do not make pre-activated products and I would advise against copying anything from the DVD onto your PC
