Install Audition 3 on new windows 8.1system

I have a new computer running windows 8.1 and I want to install my licensed version of Audition 3.0. When I go to My Orders page the download link says there are no downloads. I take this to mean I can no longer have a program I paid $350 for. I feel this is a serious rip-off job. Please advise me if I am wrong. Thank you.

Download the non-activation version of Audition 3 from the link above.

Install then enter the new non-activation serial number found at the link above. Your existing serial number will no longer work.

I have done as recommended. When it installs it asks for the language and then when chosen goes blank with nothing more of the installation process. It never gets installed so there is no opportunity to input the license.
