Hello! I have recently replaced my hard drive on my macbook pro. Before replacing it, I deactivated my Adobe creative suite. I have a serial number, but not the original disk that my product came with to download it. Is there a way for me to get my programs back? Thank you!

Mine is CS 6. Indesign keep crashing after opening, so I followed the instructions to uninstall it and reinstall it.  After I downloaded the file and tried to open it, it says:  cannot open for disk image is not recognized.  Could you help?

Me again, new development:

Background: I recently followed the prompt of automatic upgrade from OSX Maverick to Sierra. I believe the problem of

cashing started after that.  I purchased the software Creative Suite CS6 and downloaded it online with a serial number and all that.

So after doing much research on the forum and internet, I uninstalled the software following instructions and download the software CS Design standard again, following the links provided on this very website.  I end up having an icon of Design Standard of the desktop.  I put it in the Application folder as suggested by the writer: How to Install Software from DMG Files on a Mac -

The trick is that most Mac applications are distributed as images called DMG files, and many new Mac users end up running applications directly from the image instead of installing them to the “Applications” directory.

Enough explanation, here’s how to install an OS X app from a DMG file:

  1. Find the downloaded file, which usually ends up in your Desktop or Downloads folder.
  2. Double-click the .DMG file to mount it. A new Finder window showing its contents should appear.
    • If the window also contains a shortcut icon to “Applications”, drag and drop the app onto the shortcut.
    • If not, double-click the mounted volume on your desktop and drag the app icon from there to the “Applications” icon in the Finder sidebar.

However, when I clicked on the desktop icon, which a window pops up with the Design Standard icon and a font folder/ or the icon in Application folder, which has 4 folders popped up - deploy, install, pakages, payloads.

When I clicked install, I got a message saying:  We've encountered the following issues. Installer failed to initialize.  This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.

A link to "Get Adobe Support Advisor" was provided, but when I click on it, it brings me to a page that says:

The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued

The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation.

When you click on the link above, it brings you to this page, which is not very helpful:

Is there any way that I can get out of this going around and back to sqaure one?  There's no one I can actually talk to from Adobe.

I paid almost $500 for it and it's only been 2 and a half years! It's the most frustrating thing ever.  Please help!

Thanks!
