reinstalling Dreamweaver [CS5.5 upgrade, won't accept previous version 8 serial number]

I use dreamweaver CS5.5, an upgrade from dreamweaver 8. My pc crashed and I lost dreamweaver. When I tried reinstalling it won't install so I'm setting dreamweaver up on my laptop.

On completion, I enter my product number and I'm asked for my previous version Dreamweaver 8. I put that product number in and although correct I'm told it is not a participating product. I was using it for a number of years and have bought add ons for it. So why won't it accpt now? On a PC running windows 7
