Hi. So it doesn't matter when I worked on RGB or CMYK mode,
the color (and also the code of course) gradually change by itself.
The color keeps changing if I re-open the file even the color mode or settings remain the same.
As you can see, the colors on the top is my original color but it turns faded/darker at the bottom.
Help? anyone?
Thank you 🙂

It is important to say, though, that if you use a Pantone spot colour in your design, then the CMYK and RGB values can and must change if you change your colour profile. That's the rules...

Hey.. All you need to do is to change your color mode from CMYK to RGB. Go to File > Document Color Mode > RGB. And RELINK your Image or pdf. If you don't relink your file you will NOT see any changes, So you MUST relink your file.

Generally this is not a good advice. You don't just change the document color mode without considering how the artwork will be used.

I'm having the same issue and apparently, cms is auto converting the values to preserver appearance. Which causes the colors to shift. I've posted my work around in the above link. Please check it out. Only happens when images are involved.

What you are describing is not a workaround and the solution has already been posted in this thread.

I had the same problem when I switched to Illustrator 26.0.2. I am working in RGB, and import my brand color swatches each time. Illustrator wants to switch to CMYK every time I open the file. I fixed this with this trick. Everytime I open my illustrator files I just go to File > Document Color Mode > change from CMYK to RBG, then resave the file. When you create a new Illustrator file make sure to select Color Mode > RGB.

That is a recipe for disaster.
When creating a new file, make sure you select document type of Screen, Mobile or film that already is in RGB. You don't want to convert a CMYK file to RGB, because that will mess up your swatches.

I had this issue aswell, I couldn't get around it in AI but when if you switch to photoshop you can fill in your AI document with the correct colors that way

Hi @rickyy10263297,
I understand how frustrating it can be to encounter such unusual behavior in your files. I've never seen anything like this in my files. Have you had a chance to try the suggestions shared above?
If it's not too much trouble, could you please share the sample file and a screenshot of your color settings? This will really help us understand the issue better and provide you with the best possible assistance. Thank you!
Regards,
Srishti

I testing on this weekend that there is no problem in drop and drop images into ai file in CMKY mode, only RGB mode will change all object color & "swatch" color except set to "Global" color on "swatch". Place image into ai file from menu bar > File > Place is no problem!!
It’s so funny that every time you drop a image into ai file, the "R color" number and the "G color" number of the RGB color will be reduced by one, but the "B color" number will remain unchanged. hahaha!!
Can u fix this problem??
I have been designing with "Ai" for 30 years, and I have been using this method for 30 years. However, in the past 10 years when I became a web designer, I often had the problem of changing colors, which made me have to redo the file. It bothers me so much that today I have to change my 30-year-old method to "place images" instead of dragging images.

WOO! i just testing again for "drag and drop images into ai" in CMYK mode also will change color.........!!
Fortunately, I have temporarily found a way to continue using the "drag and drop images into Illustrator" method. i need to select the warning in the "color setting" dialog box. Each time you drag the image into ai file, a different color profile image will be pop up warning box. As long as you choose not to convert the color file, that's all!!

Thanks @rickyy10263297 Drag and drop has been mentioned a couple of times as the cause of changing values.
I cannot replicate that, but I can replicate the change of appearance and document color profile after draging from Photoshop, that may be a different but related bug.
@Srishti Bali Can someone from the Illustrator team contact Ricky? It seems like this problem is hard to replicate, but Ricky can.
Here are some UserVoice posts that mention drag and drop and changing color values:
Drag and drop
Dawn mentions dragging images in the comments
Thar Lynn Oo mentioned drag and drop
