Hyperlinks in a PDF (created in Illustrator) doesn't work on Acrobat for mobile.

I tried to create a "button" in Illustrator using slices and hyperlink (also tried hiding the adress behind the button as a text layer), then saved it as a PDF, creating sort of a business card that people can be directed to main medias and contacts just with this file.

The hyperlink works fine when using on pc, but I cant make it work on Acrobat for mobile.

What am I missing or need to do?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for reaching out. Ideally hyperlinks on PDF should work fine in the Acrobat Reader on Mobile devices. Is the issue related to a specific document? Will it be possible for you to share a sample document with us?

This way we will be able to replicate the issue at our end and help you accordingly.

Regards,

Srishti

Hi Srishti.

The problems seems to happen on any file i create. I made multiple test files and none work on mobile. I will post a file here soon. Thanks!

May be there is a difference in workflow. Please take a look at this video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wswp38Co2Ms

Let us know if that helps. If not, please share the file with us? You can upload it to the creative cloud and share the link with us.

Facing the same issue. When I am using the menthod that you sent in youtube link, after exporting it as a pdf, the link is not redirecting me to the correct link, instead it directing me to the ERROR 404 page on the same domain page which i used on link.

That's an old video probably using some outdated hack that probably never worked in the first place.

If the link works on a .pdf viewed on computer, then nothing is wrong wioth the file. If the lijnk is not working on mobile, the app you are using may have the links disabled or similar.

Illustrator wasn't made for this sort of thing. And slices were meant to create links for web design. The safe way to produce this is either use InDesign from the beginning or use Acrobat to create the links after creating the PDF.
