Hi Guys,
I see other people are having lagging issues with windows 10 and 11. My main lagging happens moving accross the menus where the mouse just stops moving and then jumps. Sometimes I can't even get it to hover over the section that I need.
I've tried (I think) all of the suggested fixes including uninstalling (restarting system) reinstalling Illustrator 2023 with no change. Tried Renaming the CEP folder and the UXP folder. Tried booting system in safe mode but still the same lagging effect.
Thanks.
Paul W.

You may need to delve into the settings of your NVidia driver. This sounds like a classic extended desktop vs. multiple individual desktops thing and Windows 11's new method of handling multiple cards may exacerbate the issue.

Hi Mylenium,
The odd thing is that this problem doesn't exist on Photoshop or any of the other Adobe apps. that I use. It only seems to affect Illustrator.

Hi @paulw49049041,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing the outcomes of the troubleshooting steps you have tried already. Would you mind trying creating a new admin user account and checking if the same behavior is happening there as well or not?
Would you mind creating a small screen recording demonstrating the issue if it is the same behavior in a new user account? I will forward it to the product team for further investigation.
I will be looking forward to your response.
Thanks,

Hi Anshul,
I'm sorry that I haven't responded to you until now. The holiday season is upon us and I've been busy with that. I'll try (as soon as I can) to create a new admin account to see if that has any impact on the lagging issue.
Thanks so much,
Paul W.

Hi Anshul,
Well, I tried creating a new admin account and it improved the lagging effect some. It still lags somewhat but it's better. The only problem is I don't want to use that profile as I would have to then go through the torture of reloading or reentering all the account information for all the many programs that I have installed on the system. So, I guess I stuck just limping along with Illustrator the way it is. It is so odd that none of the other Adobe apps behave this way.
Thanks
Paul W.

Thanks for sharing the screen recording @paulw49049041. Would you mind trying resetting the system font cache & validating them? The steps are here: https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-illustrator-indesign.html.
Also, are you using any plugin/ font management or extension?
Thanks,
Anshul Saini

Hi @paulw49049041,
Thanks for confirming that. Many users in the past have reported this. Please check if resetting the font cache & validating help or not. If not, you may need to remove the Extensis font manager to check whether that helps with the menu lags.
Let us know how it goes. We'd be looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Anshul Saini
