‏Hello Adobe Community

‏I need help finding a compatible version of Adobe Illustrator for my MacBook Pro 2012, which is running macOS Catalina. Unfortunately, I can’t upgrade to a newer macOS, and the latest Illustrator versions aren’t supported on my system. Previously, I had an older version (maybe 2020 or 2021) that worked well, but I had to uninstall it and would like to reinstall a compatible version.

‏I have files that I worked on in the previous version, and I do not want to lose them, so I need access to a version that allows me to open and edit these files.

‏Any guidance on where to find a download link for a Catalina-compatible Illustrator version would be greatly appreciated.

You can try to contact Adobe support (after the weekend) maybe they can help with this no loger supported version.

I purchased CS6 in 2013 - Installed on my laptop at the time, and then on a new laptop in 2018. That laptop recently expired, but I am now unable to install CS6 on the new laptop. I can log into my Adobe account, the CS6 details of serial number, and I can download the files.

I have tried downloading it using both Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome. I have tried installing with both set as Default browser. I have changed the setting in Edge to Allow sites to run in Internet Explorer, which is something I found mentioned.

Whatever, I have done when I run the Setup File, enter the serial number for my software, then I'm asked to sign into my account - when I try and do this I get a message to Update software, browsers etc, and can proceed no further.

I am assuming that the CS6 can no longer install on Windows 11, and is not longer supported or updated, and that if I wish to continue using Illustrator I will need to take up a monthly subscription.

Or does someone know of a way around this?

Versions older than 27 are not available through Creative Cloud.

Hello, I'm looking for a link to download adobe illustrator 2022. Adobe has broken their program and it no longers works efficiently for me after 26.2. Someone at me shop acidently updated to 2024 (also trash) and now I can't find the link to Adobe 2022 in "install older versions". Can someone help please?

The application will not update if you turn off automatic updates. As for version 2024: what is it that keeps it from running?

It's been broken since 26.2 for me. I work with Large Files for vehicle graphics, wall murals etc. In Adobe Illustrator 2023 it began to freeze when trying to open some of the files I use everyday. I can't export as a tiff, if I accidently ctrl copy a blank artboard it would sometimes freeze and crash. Now that 2024 is here I can't save contour cuts in adobe anymore. I can designate a color in adobe and call it 'contour cut" and my machine will know to cut that color and not print it. If I even open a file and save in Adobe 2024 it ruins the file and i get a "no cut data" error. I have to save and do all design on my laptop (Adobe 2022) then print on my workstation. If I need to make any edits, I have to go back to my laptop, resave it to our personal cloud, and then print on our workstation. Essentially my laptop is the last barrier to my shop screeching to a stop next time I have to print and cut something.

I'm working for a design agency that insists I use the 2022 version of Illustrator (approx version number 26.5.3). I click on the 3 dots next to the app, in the Adobe Cloud app, and it shows me versions 27 to 28. I need version 26, so underneath it says, 'Looking of older versions - View more' (see screen shot below). 'View more' is a web link. When I click on this web link it takes me to an Adobe Creative Cloud Apps available to download (see screen shot). There is a web link here for '2022 Install previous versions of your Creative Cloud apps'. I click on this link and it takes me to 'Install previous versions of your Creative Cloud apps'. It then tells me to 'click on the 3 dots next to the Illustrator app in Cloud App'. Nowehere on this page does it show me how to download the 2022 version of Illustrator. In effect I have just gone round in a circle and gotten nowhere. Does anyone know how I can actually download a 2022 (version 26) of Illustrator? Thanks

when you click on View More, it takes you to the download page where it says they provide installers for the current version and the previous version only.

"We provide installers for our current apps and the previous major version of each."

contact customer support and explain why you need an older version, they might be able to help you

Hello guys,

As the titel says im trrying to get Version 26.5.3 of illustrator downloaded since its needed for some specific files that we use. IS there anyway i can get this version of illustrator because it cannot be found in creative cloud.

Hi, i just have a new computer but is not the most modern one. I was able to install an older version on Photoshop but I´m gettin problems with Ai, old versions are not where they should be. I'm fine with the 2020 version, thats what I need, can someone explain me how to get it? The more concise the better since I'm not good with English. Please see the images

You cannot get the 2020 version with the Creative Cloud app. But in the case of 2020 you might actually be out of luck. You could contact Customer Care and give them a reason why you need that version. Maybe you're lucky and they give it to you. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

Hey team,

I just signed up for Adobe Illustrator and downloaded Creative Cloud naturally - however, my mac OS is Mojave and therefore the latest version of Illustrator is not compatible. I'm not willing to update my OS past Mojave as it will massively slow down my computer (as experienced), but how does one install an older version of Illustrator? It doesn't seem possible on the CC.

Be wary of scammers - there are no direct download links from third parties and Adobe will not DM you.

Please Help! I'm a Graphic Arts instructor at an Adobe Authorized Testing Center. I facilitate in certifying students, as Adobe Certified Professionals, and do my exam testing throught Certiport/Compass.

The testing software isn't capable of utilizing 2021 or 2022, as of yet, to certify students and am looking for a download of Adobe Illustrator 2020. I've found downloads for 2018 & 2019 version of Illustrator but not 2020. I'm hoping someone can help me out as in Adobe support told me I might be able to find, or ask, for a download link in the forums as Adobe Help doesn't support 2020 anymore.

Infuriating. Adobe support advice to us (as community experts) last I heard was that earlier versions can be made available if specifically requested via a support agent. There is nothing anyone on the forum can do to supply the 2020 version.

Wow, so they're supposed to provide a link or solution but pass the buck to Adobe Community Support? Is this something you've seen before or have seen where people were successful in getting a link from them? It very infuriating when I'm trying to grow their products by teaching students how to use them and am able to facilitate them on getting ACP certified....sad really!
