Ton,
I wonder whether the Sami will end up with six seasons instead of eight, Tjaktje-Daelvie (Autumn-Winter) and Daelvie (Winter) being cancelled and Gijre-Daelvie (Spring-Winter) being replaced by Gijre-Tjaktje (Spring-Autumn).

Whitish balls of hard water in your garden?
You are not a drug dealer, Jacob, are you?

You mean one that is conscientious and responsible enough to test stuff before distributing, with the possible side effect of seing things (in funny ways), Kurt?
In any case the taste was cool, and a sufficient amount could really make one chill out.

Bizarre or beautiful?

Certainly both, both, Hans-Jürgen.

You are very lucky to have such visitors!

According to the forecast those visitors will run the risk of being buried alive by the white stuff during the forthcoming days.
Take care of them, Jacob.

Doug, we are lucky indeed; and working for it. Rather than a lawn the low greenery is increasingly more diverse and flowery, so in the summer we have partridges, and the roe deers and pheasants are visiting all the year round.
I believe you know that the roe buck kid is the real Bambi.
I only spotted it because it was close to the terrace door when I opened it; and just moved 30 feet away, then resumed its browsing, which brought it close to the hens busy with the corn, and then it took over there, before continuing its round.

I will, Kurt; I should love to have a great amount of white stuff to protect them against.

This showed up yesterday. Rather late for Alaska, even here in the banana belt.

Delightful, Peter.
And the very first video here.

Jacob, are those small dark parts in the branches just bats or a group of shrunken monks?
You may say they are cherries, but I don't believe it.

You know me too well, Kurt (and have for too long).
The rather small fruit bats we have here, more specifically cherry bats, have retained enough of the ancient vampire blood (bad or just bat?) to need a nap while the sun is up, and yet thinned it enough through cherry juice to just hang out in the (cherry) trees, still needing to cover their eyes though.
The currently undercover Buddleia monks at the lower left are having a well earned rest after preaching to the choir which used to flutter by all summer.

No snow for me, but the island of Hawaii has a blizzard warning with at least 12 inches of snow as well as hundred mile per hour winds.

Jane, no chance of your going there, and sending a 0% K proof?

It's only 5000 miles away, Jacob, but the National Weather Service has warned against traveling to the area, saying it "could be very difficult to impossible."

Peter,
can you imagine how many animals or creatures I can see in your first image?
You see (some) of them as well, I guess.

My strongest vision is of an eagle attacking a herd of star-nosed moles. Or are they adolescent Cthulhus?
Copy link to clipboard

They may be moles, as you say. I think they are rather walruses, but who knows.
At the bottom left side there is a pretty young raven seeking after some food or something else.
And then there is a smirking spider at the lower top left side.
And so many more creatures. But I'm afraid it's better to stop fantasising now. Otherwise some may call me a psycho.

Peter,
Unlike Kurt I see only one kind of being, namely the spruce ghost (one of the longer terms being the spruce bark beetle host ghost as you know) that you caught hiding in plain sight (or trying to), especially the one cowering without looking up, the one you caught with the tip of the snout right at the lower right Golden Section.
The other one is really peaceful.
