Number List disappears when outline text.

Whenever I use the "number list" tool in the paragraph tool and then outline the text, the numbers disappear.  I had to undo all my numbered lists and physically type all the numbers in. This is a new issue for me. Is there another way to do this? Is there a setting I need to change?

    I am having the same issue when outlining my artwork for printshop, I didn't notice until they sent me back the proof. 

    I am using Ai v28.5 with macOS sonoma14.4.1 (23E224)

    That is the way it works.

    You can either use Flatten transparency or first convert the numbers to text and then outline text or you can just not outline text at all. Embedding fonts in the PDF should be suffiient

      Just convert it to normal text first or use Flatten transparency.

      I'm sorry to hear about the issue you encountered with the number list disappearing after outlining the text. We tried replicating it but couldn't. Please try Monika's suggestion and create a new document to test. If this doesn't work, try resetting preferences (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html).

       

      If that doesn't help, then please confirm the OS and Ai version. Also, please share a screen recording and a sample file with us for further investigation. We'll do our best to assist you.

        I found a similar report in Japan Forum and came across this thread by searching for examples.

        文字のアウトライン化で箇条書きの点が消える

         

        The condition to successfully reproduce this problem is to close and reopen the saved document.
        It is not possible to reproduce the problem with a quick verification, such as creating an outline immediately after creating a numbered list.
        I would love to see this verified.

            You could first use the Numbers to text function.

            Or: use Flatten transparency for outlining the text with the numbers.
