Outer Glow not working

I cannot get Outer Glow to work under any circumstances.

I have a simple compound path in its own layer, I am trying to apply Outer Glow, but no matter what color, blend option, setting or placement, the Outer Glow will not display. Not over an artboard, background, or the open workspace.

There are other instances of Outer Glow in the piece that work just fine.

I tried restarting the program and no luck.

What can I do? Thanks.

Its just a circle.

That is white, right?

Can you change that to red?

And make the canvas color white in your preferences > UI?

I suppose you are just not seeing it. It's just a thin ring and then that's what outer glw does.

It doesn't matter what color I change it to, or what Outer Glow settings are used, I cannot make Outer Glow visible under any circumstances.

I don't understand what you man about canvas color. I know it can be changed, but not sure the point, a white background certainly isn't going to make anything white more visible. The Outer Glow is not visible on this object regardless of what color is behind it either.

I've used Outer Glow plenty of times in the past, including other objects in this same file where it works just fine, only this object seems to be affected and this is not normal behavior from my experience.
