Alignment difference in Indesign and PDF

While working on a project, I made sure to fit the red, yellow and light-red boxes right next to each other. However, when I export to PDF this alignment is off.
In my picture, on the left you can see they fit perfectly. On the right side you can see the PDF-version, where there is somehow a sliver of the bark-red background picture visible.
This is not the only place in my document where this happens, but there are also places where the PDF does show the perfect alignment from my indesign document.
Because this document is meant for printing and I need to deliver it to the printers as a PDF, I need this sliver of background to not show up in the final product.
I would love some tips on how to make sure my alignment sticks while converting to PDF
