Hi,
Is it possible to put captions to images embedded in an anchored object? I can't do it
Thank you for your help (indesign 17)
Marc G.
InDesign's caption feature is... limited. The only workflow that allows consistent results with relative ease is to group each image with a text frame, use Object Styles for consistent management, and anchor each group.

No, James is correct, captions won't work with an embedded anchored object.
Here's a good description of how Captions do work:

Thank you for your answers. I thought it was possible to use photoshop with the metadata but it's not. So I'm going to make text captions under my image with indesign and group the objects.

Yes, I find the metadata caption process extremely limiting. It's a solution for highly managed workflows such as magazines and catalogs, and almost useless outside those projects. And the actual caption attach/management process is clumsier and more limited than it should be, even if it allowed more integral management of the content.
I use image frame + text frame without a second thought; for my workflows, methods and practices (especially export to EPUB), the built-in feature may as well not exist.

@James Gifford—NitroPress, Those are kinder words than I would use!

Well, I got kinda snippy last week, so I am ramping up the politeness this week. 😄
