Can I control a single design element on multiple parent pages

I'm creating a document with 4 parent pages. But on those parent pages, there's a single design element that needs to stay the exact same on every page.

Is there a way to apply this design element to all parent pages "once" so that if I need to update the design (color, text, etc.), it'll automatically be updated on all parent pages?

I don't want to have to go through and update the design on every single parent page if possible.

You can base parent pages on other parent pages. Place the graphic on one and base the others on that.

I have another similar question.

I've added default text on my parent pages to make sure the positioning is the same on the regular pages. Then I've been overriding the parent so I can change the text to what I want.

As you can imagine, this means the text styles are no longer connected to the parent page.

What am I missing? What's the proper way to do something like this?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what do you mean ?

Paragraph / Character / Object styles are not "connected" to the parent page but to the objects - so overriding objects shouldn't change applied styles ??

Sorry! It was a silly question. Your post reminded me about character and paragraph styles. That's what I needed! Thank you. 🙂

I found it. Thank you, Bob!

For anyone else wondering, right click on the parent page and select Parent Options > Based on Parent.

Or, in the Pages panel, drag one parent onto another. Drag Parent A onto Parent B and now Parent B will be based pon Parent A and have all the same attributes and Parent objects.
