So i use a laptop usually and things are normally fine. however for some reason now all objects on my second monitor is not moveable. i can click on the object and when i attempt to move it theres a red circle icon. if i move the indesign window to my main screen everything is moveable and the problem only happens on the 2nd monitor. ive tried reseting preferences, nothing is locked.

when i use my laptop InDesign works fine, but the second I move the window onto my monitor, it dosnt allow me to move objects, and when it does it moves it to a random location as if my mouse isnt calibrated and believes my mouse is in a different spot.

Then i move it back to my laptop and its fine. I know other people have reccomened to change the scale on my laptop, or to move all the objects by clicking V, but I want to know how to fully fix this issue. Ive already reset my preferences but I dont know what to do

This solution appears to be related ... maybe:

A recent Windows 11 patch update KB5050094 might be causing this problem. Go to Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Update and find just the update KB5050094 and uninstall it.

I am having the same issue -- can't seem to find this specific update thought on my update history.

Hi @tanya_5583,

Thanks for reaching out! If you’re unable to find the KB5050094 update in your update history, I’d recommend trying the other workarounds suggested by the experts:

 - Set your monitor scaling to 125% and check if that helps.
 - Use the 'E' key instead of 'V' to move objects.

It has worked for other users as a temporary fix. Moreover, please go through this similar thread as well: https://adobe.ly/43iBIbE

Let me know if any of these work for you!

Yes, I am on InDesign 20.1, Windows 11 24H2. The issue goes away if I scale my monitor to 125% or use click 'E' to move the object.

Many thanks

You're welcome.

Thanks Robbert, all the other solutions didn't work for me, but the E function works! So for now before this problem is solves I can work around with the E instead of the V.
