Cant undo in, or save, InDesign document

I have just run into a problem where I can neither save an ID document nor undo actions. I have a document currently open and am reluctant to close the document without knowing whether my changes have been saved.

I see this problem has existed for some time for other users, but there have been no verified fixes, just plenty of try this and try that's without anyone confirming whether any of them work.

Does somebody have any clearer view on what might resolve this?

Many thanks....Chloe

I had the same problem. After a long search, it turned out that the problem was caused by a poorly programmed font.

Hi Marianne,

how did you identify the font that was to blame? Did you simply delete it?

I have closed InDesign and deleted all preferences. When I opened ID again, it seems to be working now, but I'm not convinced problem won't reappear.

Many thanks.

Chloe

I noticed it because we used a different font for the publication and the problem no longer occurred afterwards. Before, I had irregular crashes. I had to save the restored document as an .idml file, otherwise the error occurred again when I used the document.

Sorry, I should add that I am using version 15.0.1
