Certain Images Won't Show when Exporting via Print Booklet

Hello,

I'm trying to export a pdf using the print booklet function from Indesign. It is for saddle-stitch printing. However, when I export certain images which are .pngs and set to multiply do not show up when exported. Exporting as a regular pdf works fine but when I go through the Print Booklet settings they don't show up. Using default export settings. CC 13.1 (2018)

Try using PDF/X4 from the InDesign presets. Choose Pages (not Spreads (and tick Crop Marks and Use Document Bleed Settings). Leave it to your printer to do the imposition.

You can’t export using Print Booklet so you’re going to have to be more specific on what you’re doing.

That out of the way, I suggest you go right ahead and export a proper PDF, open it in Acrobat and use the booklet feature there to print it.

I'm trying to set a file up for 2-up saddle-stitching printing from InDesign. My printer just needs the PDF so I create the saddle-stitch book using the Print Booklet function from InDesign. My issue is that while it sets the file up correctly, there's certain images that do not show up in the PDF that's exported and I'm trying to figure out why. The images are set to multiply (they are logos) and are a mix of .png and .jpeg files.

I'm trying to produce a print-ready PDF for 2-up saddle stitch printing from InDesign. I've done it before multiple times, I just can't figure out why certain images aren't showing up in the pdf.

With Print Booklet you still have to setup the page and select a PPD via Print Settings.... Are you using the AdobePDF 9.0 PPD?

The Postscript workflow is going to flatten the transparency, so the multiplied image might be a problem. Try saving a Postscript file and using Distiller. But if there's transparency, you really want to use Acrobat's Booklet feature.
